Job Description

MarBorg Industries seeks an MRF Plant Electrician/Instrumentation Technician to keep our recycling and waste-processing equipment operating safely and efficiently. In this on-site role at our Santa Barbara facility, you will install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and control systems, including motors, sensors, PLCs, and instrumentation. You'll perform preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and support continuous improvement while following strict safety standards in a family-oriented, community-focused environment. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for MRF plant equipment Troubleshoot PLCs, sensors, motors, and control circuits Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation assets Calibrate, test, and document performance of instrumentation devices Respond to equipment breakdowns and support emergency repairs Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and regulatory requirements Maintain accurate maintenance records and update equipment documentation Required Skills Industrial electrical maintenance Instrumentation and controls PLC troubleshooting Motor control systems Reading electrical schematics Preventive maintenance Lockout/tagout safety VFDs and motor starters Electrical testing and measurement Calibration of sensors and transmitters
