Job Description
Rugged Information Technology Equipment Corporation (RITEC) is seeking an experienced Electronics Repair Technician to join our repair team in Simi Valley, California. This position requires strong component-level troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and repair complex electronic equipment using schematics, technical documentation, and electronic test equipment. The successful candidate will have at least five years of relevant electronics repair experience and previous experience working in an AS9100 aerospace or defense manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot electronic assemblies and equipment to the component level. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, bills of material, and technical repair documentation. Diagnose failures involving printed circuit board assemblies, power supplies, wiring, connectors, displays, processors, and related electronic components. Use oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, logic analyzers, and other electronic test equipment. Remove and replace defective through-hole and surface-mount components. Perform soldering, rework, modification, and repair of electronic assemblies. Conduct functional testing after repairs to verify that equipment meets applicable requirements. Document troubleshooting findings, root causes, repairs performed, replaced components, and final test results. Complete repair travelers, inspection records, and other quality documentation accurately. Follow approved work instructions, drawings, repair procedures, and configuration-control requirements. Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Customer Service to resolve technical issues. Identify recurring failures and provide information that supports root-cause analysis and corrective action. Maintain an organized, safe, and ESD-controlled work area. Comply with RITEC's AS9100 quality-management system and all applicable aerospace, defense, and customer requirements. Required Qualifications Minimum of five years of professional electronics troubleshooting and repair experience. Previous work experience in an AS9100 aerospace, defense, avionics, or similarly regulated manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment to the component level. Strong ability to read and understand electronic schematics and technical drawings. Experience using standard electronic test and diagnostic equipment. Experience repairing printed circuit board assemblies. Proficiency in through-hole and surface-mount soldering and rework. Ability to follow controlled procedures and produce complete, accurate repair documentation. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with Engineering and Quality personnel. Must be a US Citizen. High school diploma or equivalent.
