As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for an Instrument and Electrical Specialist to join our Maintenance Department for our Atlas Point team. The Instrument & Electrical Specialist supports day-to-day operations at the Atlas Point facility by investigating and resolving instrument and electrical failures, specifying and procuring instrumentation and devices, and working with third-party vendors to obtain replacements and resolutions. This role serves as a key technical resource bridging field operations with engineering solutions.
What You'll Be Doing :

Investigate and resolve instrument and electrical failures in the field by gathering feedback from hourly technicians, operations, mgmt., and engineer. Diagnose root causes and coordinating with third-party vendors for repairs or replacements. Specify, procure, and source replacement instruments, devices, control valves, actuators, and associated components. Obtain quotes and compare rebuild versus new-purchase economics. Review automated and control valves in the field, identify failure modes using model and serial number data, and work with vendors to obtain rebuild kits, replacement bodies, or full replacements. Evaluate reuse of existing actuators where applicable. Support continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS) by troubleshooting communication failures, reading fault codes, and working with third-party service providers to resolve issues. Assist with mass spectrometer analyzer operations by understanding calibration gas requirements and ordering calibration gases from suppliers as needed. Support heat trace control panel troubleshooting, including diagnosing failed touch screens, RTDs, circuit breakers, and working with suppliers to specify and procure replacement components. Collaborate with hourly instrument and electrical technicians on a daily basis, working in the field and the electrical shop to resolve work order issues and technical knowledge. Help to coordinate daily Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) maintenance activities across a continuous-process chemical manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all process equipment. Plan, prioritize, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance on process instrumentation, PLCs, VFDs, analyzers (CEMS, Stack O2, Opacity, GC, Mass Spec and IR), control valves, and low-to-medium voltage electrical systems in accordance with plant reliability goals. Oversee loop checks, calibration programs, and functional testing for critical process control and safety systems (SIS, DCS, PLC). Review and approve work orders, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and I&E drawings; ensure all work meets NFPA 70E, NEC, and company engineering standards. Coordinate closely with Operations, Engineering, and Reliability teams to schedule maintenance and capital work with minimal production impact. Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex instrumentation and control issues Support and verify compliance with Management of Change (MOC), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Process Safety Management (PSM) procedures. Participate in capital project planning—providing scope input, equipment specifications, and resource estimates for I&E-related upgrades. Maintain accurate asset documentation, PM records, and calibration histories within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS, e.g., SAP).Who We're Looking For:
