Hiring for Equipment Mechanic! Job Description This role focuses on maintaining and repairing a wide range of material handling equipment, including forklifts, aerial lifts, utility vehicles, and floor care machines. You will perform preventative maintenance and repair work on customer fleets directly at their locations, ensuring equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of material handling equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, utility vehicles, and floor care equipment. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to support accurate diagnosis and repair of equipment systems. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, hoses, valves, and cylinders. Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems, including air lines, valves, and related components. Perform minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs on equipment as needed. Use appropriate tools, test equipment, and repair techniques to complete work safely and efficiently. Document work performed, parts used, and equipment status in a clear and accurate manner. Essential Skills At least 3 years of mechanic experience, preferably working with industrial, diesel, or automotive equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems. Working knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics. Experience with minor electrical troubleshooting on equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in diesel or automotive technology is highly beneficial. Comfort using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools in a repair environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing equipment issues. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Decatur, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $79040.00/yr. Medical, Dental, Vision 401K match PTO Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Decatur,IL.
