• Job Description
• The Electronics Repair Technician diagnoses, repairs, and refurbishes a wide range of electronic and electromechanical devices while ensuring high-quality standards and accurate documentation.

This role involves hands-on electronic troubleshooting, assembly, and testing using specialized tools and test equipment, as well as basic inventory management and computer-based logging of repair activities.

• Responsibilities
• + Diagnose, repair, and refurbish electronic and electromechanical devices to meet specified performance and quality standards.

+ Perform quality testing on new and repaired devices using appropriate test procedures, tools, and equipment. + Log all findings, repair actions, test results, and configuration changes accurately in computer systems and repair logs. + Program BIOS and update revision levels according to provided specifications and work instructions. + Create, assemble, and modify cables and electronic boards as required for repairs, testing, or production support. + Interpret and work from schematics, blueprint drawings, diagrams, and written instructions to complete repairs and assemblies. + Use soldering tools to perform component-level soldering and rework on printed circuit boards (PCBs). + Operate and interpret readings from test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic test instruments. + Perform electronic assembly and wiring tasks, including routing, connecting, and securing components and harnesses. + Inspect components, circuit boards, and assemblies for defects, damage, or nonconformities and take corrective actions. + Follow established test procedures and calibration methods to verify proper operation of devices and assemblies. + Manage and track parts and materials used in repairs, supporting basic inventory control and replenishment needs. + Apply basic algebra and geometry to measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting activities. + Define problems, collect data, and interpret information presented in mathematical, written, or diagram form to determine root causes. + Use hand tools and small tools safely and effectively during assembly, repair, and testing tasks. + Adhere to safety procedures when working around fumes, airborne particles, flammable, toxic, or caustic chemicals, and high-temperature tools. + Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area within the electronics repair shop. + Multi-task across multiple work orders or projects while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.

• Essential Skills
• + Proficiency in electronics repair, troubleshooting, and testing of electronic and electromechanical devices.

+ Strong understanding of electronic theory and its practical application in diagnostics and repair. + Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprint drawings, and schematic diagrams. + 1 to 2 years of component-level soldering experience on printed circuit boards (PCBs). + Hands-on experience with soldering tools and techniques for assembly and rework. + Ability to use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters. + Experience with electronics testing, calibration, and test procedures. + Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical and electromechanical assemblies. + Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, emails, and notes. + Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply basic algebra and geometry. + Capability to define problems, collect data, and interpret information in mathematical or diagram form. + Basic computer skills for logging repairs, test results, and inventory usage. + Ability to multi-task and manage multiple repair tasks or work orders. + Comfort working with hand tools, small tools, and general test equipment. + Ability to work safely around fumes, airborne particles, flammable, toxic, or caustic chemicals, and high-temperature tools.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Experience with electronic assembly and wiring, including cable and harness creation.

+ Familiarity with circuit board layouts and printed circuit board (PCB) construction. + Experience performing inspection of electronic components and assemblies. + Ability to follow detailed test procedures and document results clearly. + General mechanical and general labor experience in a technical or shop environment. + Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset. + Organizational skills to assist with basic inventory management and parts tracking.

• Work Environment

The work involves handling printed circuit boards, electronic components, and assemblies, as well as working around fumes and airborne particles associated with soldering and certain chemicals. You may work with flammable, toxic, or caustic chemicals and high-temperature tools while following appropriate safety procedures. The environment is structured for precise, bench-level technical work, with an emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and safe handling of tools and materials. Attire is typical of a technical shop setting, suitable for working with tools, electronics, and occasional exposure to chemicals and soldering operations.

• This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clearwater, FL.
• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $20.

00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
