This role involves installing, splicing, and testing fiber optic cables to ensure optimal performance for telecommunications networks. The ideal candidate will have outdoor work experience and be comfortable working in various environmental conditions. This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced telecommunications testing equipment and hand tools, contributing to the deployment and maintenance of critical fiber optic infrastructure. Duties Perform outdoor installation, splicing, and termination of fiber optic cables in various environments. Use specialized hand tools to prepare and splice fiber optic cables with precision and care. Test fiber optic lines utilizing telecommunications testing equipment to verify signal integrity and performance. Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic connections as needed, ensuring minimal downtime. Follow safety protocols and industry standards during all installation and testing procedures. Document work performed, including splicing configurations, test results, and any issues encountered for quality assurance purposes. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet operational goals. Experience Prior outdoor work experience is essential, demonstrating the ability to operate in diverse weather conditions. Hands-on experience working with fiber optic cables is required, including splicing and termination techniques. Familiarity with telecommunications testing equipment is preferred, enabling accurate diagnostics and performance verification. Proficiency with hand tools used in fiber optic installation and maintenance is necessary. Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to follow technical instructions are key attributes for success in this role.
Pay:
$18.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
