Job Description
Start Here. Grow Here. Stay Here. Do you have a background working with electrical panels, pumps, air-release valves, and/ or compressors? In this role, you'll provide critical support for landfill inspections, maintenance, and repairs of technical systems at landfill sites. Help keep the community of Sarasota County clean, safe, and beautiful for all residents and visitors. Apply today and make a difference! Diagnose, install, repair, overhaul, maintain, and adjust equipment. Records maintenance and repair activities using software systems. Respond to emergency notifications of infrastructure system failures. Maintain instrumentation equipment, as well as hardware, and software. Startup, program, check system, diagnose troubleshoots, or maintain system problems, etc. Recommend improvements to system design, operations, software, and maintenance. Order parts, equipment upgrades, or replacement and maintains inventory. Coordinate work to infrastructure systems to include contractors and county staff. Develop, coordinate, and maintain preventative maintenance programs for landfill infrastructure systems. Develop and prepare solicitations to procure services, equipment, and supplies.
Hours :
Monday - Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (40 hours a week)
•Work days and times will change weekly and may include working up to a maximum of two Saturdays/month. Work hours will be changed based on daily assignments but will fall between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:30 pm. The schedule is created on a monthly basis for employees outside of work planning purposes.
About You Minimum Qualifications :
Technical School diploma or its equivalent. Two (2) years of experience in the related field. - OR - a High School Diploma or its equivalent and three (3) years of experience in the related field. A valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications :
Two or more years of experience working landfill gas collection, destruction systems, and leachate collection systems. Working knowledge of pumps and control panels. Ability to obtain State of Florida Landfill Operators Certification within six (6) months of hire.
Physical Demands:
Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
About Everything Else Starting Pay Range:
$25.45- $34.35 Full Salary Range (Future earning potential): $25.45- $43.26
