Engine Development Technician Drove Aeropower Atlanta, GA Job Details Full-time $40 - $50 an hour 6 hours ago Benefits Relocation assistance Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Tube bending Precision measuring instruments Technical documentation Hydraulics E & I Full Job Description About Drove Aeropower Drove Aeropower builds advanced gas turbine systems for some of the most demanding applications in energy and defense, built around high power density, rapid deployment, and domestic manufacturing . We move with the speed and ownership of a startup while tackling engineering problems normally reserved for much larger organizations. Build the engine. Test it. Make it better. Take ownership of gas turbine engines and the systems that support them across the entire development cycle: from assembly and inspection through testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. Working alongside engineering, you will help develop next-generation propulsion systems by building hardware, solving problems, and improving the way we test. This is not a maintenance job. You will help build propulsion systems from the ground up. What You Will Own
▪ Engine builds. Build, inspect, configure, and install development and production gas turbine engines to engineering specifications and quality standards.
▪ Test execution. Pre- and post-test inspections, engine test procedures, and monitoring of engine performance, instrumentation, and test stand systems.
▪ Test stand systems. Build, modify, and maintain mechanical and electrical stand systems: fuel, pneumatic, exhaust, instrumentation, and data acquisition.
▪ Tooling and fixtures. Fabricate and integrate custom tooling, fixtures, tubing, brackets, and other hardware for assembly and test.
▪ The build record. Accurate documentation of engine builds, inspections, testing, and hardware configurations. What You Will Do
▪ Troubleshoot engines, test stands, and support equipment.
▪ Support engine teardowns, component inspections, and root-cause failure investigations.
▪ Find and implement improvements to hardware, tooling, test systems, and processes that raise safety, reliability, efficiency, and repeatability.
▪ Keep a safe, organized work environment, and contribute to best practices, standard work, and continuous improvement. What You Bring
▪ Hands-on experience assembling gas turbine engines to engineering specifications and tight mechanical tolerances
▪ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
▪ Experience with electrical wiring and troubleshooting
▪ Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
▪ Experience with instrumentation, sensors, and precision measuring equipment
▪ Proficiency with fabrication equipment and common shop tools Bonus Points Not required, but they'll set you apart:
▪ Building high-pressure fuel systems
▪ Installing and wiring strain gauges, pressure transducers, thermocouples, and other test instrumentation
▪ Tube bending
▪ Building data acquisition systems You Will Thrive Here If
▪ You'd rather build the thing than maintain it.
▪ You see a better way to do the job and you make it happen.
▪ You want every day to be different. Why Drove Aeropower
▪ Ground-up development. Build propulsion systems from the ground up, not just maintain existing hardware.
▪ Beside the engineers. Work alongside engineering at every stage, from the first engine build through full-scale testing.
▪ Real influence. Your ideas matter, and your work directly shapes the next generation of gas turbine engines.
▪ One of the first. As one of Drove's first employees, you will have a real voice in the decisions that shape how we build and test.
▪ A founder who has done it before. Drove's founder has already successfully built a company, and you will help build the next one.
