We move with the speed and ownership of a startup while tackling engineering problems normally reserved for much larger organizations. If it isn't instrumented, we can't learn from it. Take ownership of the instrumentation and low-voltage electrical systems used to develop and test advanced gas turbine engines. You will work hands-on with both engine-mounted instrumentation and ground test systems , from sensor installation and harness fabrication to checkout, troubleshooting, test operations, and continuous improvement. Priorities change. Hardware evolves fast. You will help turn development hardware into reliable, test-ready systems, and you will be expected to solve problems and take ownership beyond a narrowly defined scope. What You Will Own
▪ Engine-mounted instrumentation. Thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transducers, accelerometers, speed sensors, strain gauges, and other development sensors.
▪ Harnesses and wiring. Crimping, soldering, pinning, splicing, shielding, grounding, and cable routing, all to aerospace-quality workmanship.
▪ Ground test systems. DAQ systems, signal conditioning hardware, instrumentation cabinets, and test control interfaces.
▪ Checkout and verification. Continuity, resistance, grounding, and point-to-point checks.
▪ The paper trail. Accurate build, configuration, repair, and test documentation. What You Will Do
▪ Build, install, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain engine and ground-side instrumentation.
▪ Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pinouts, instrumentation lists, and engineering drawings.
▪ Support pre-test checkout, engine testing, troubleshooting, and post-test inspections.
▪ Work directly with engineering to improve instrumentation layouts, harnesses, installation methods, and test procedures.
▪ Support mechanical assembly, test stand buildout, facility work, and other development activities as required. What You Bring
▪ 3+ years hands-on installing, fabricating, and troubleshooting instrumentation and low-voltage electrical systems (harnesses, connectors, terminations, shielding, grounding, cable routing) in aerospace, test, industrial, automotive, or similar environments
▪ Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation, and to use common electrical test equipment for verification and troubleshooting
▪ Electrical panel, junction box, or instrumentation cabinet fabrication
▪ Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort around complex mechanical hardware
▪ Ability to work independently while communicating well with engineering, technicians, and test personnel
▪ Sharp attention to detail and a real commitment to safety and quality Bonus Points Experience in several of these is highly desirable:
▪ Gas turbine, jet engine, or rocket propulsion
▪ Engine test cells or propulsion test stands
▪ Tube bending You Will Thrive Here If
▪ You're comfortable in a fast-paced development environment where the plan changes and the hardware keeps evolving.
▪ You take ownership and solve problems without waiting to be told.
▪ You care about workmanship, safety, and quality, and it shows in your harnesses. Why Drove Aeropower
▪ Ground-up development. Build propulsion systems from the ground up, not just maintain existing hardware.
▪ Beside the engineers. Work alongside engineering at every stage, from the first engine build through full-scale testing.
▪ Real influence. Your ideas matter, and your work directly shapes the next generation of gas turbine engines.
▪ One of the first. As one of Drove's first employees, you will have a real voice in the decisions that shape how we build and test.
▪ A founder who has done it before. Drove's founder has already successfully built a company, and you will help build the next one.
