Job Description
  • THIS IS A 12 HOUR ROTATING DAY SHIFT POSITION
  • 6AM•6PM•
Position Purpose:
The Maintenance Technician
  • Automation is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairs on various types of assembly, subassembly, printing, and/or packaging machines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditionsRead, use, and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection toolsPerform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipmentCheck and maintain quality of product being produced by identifying acceptable and non-acceptable product in accordance with Quality policies and proceduresActively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvementAnswer machine alarms as they occur and identify and address the root cause.

Follow all 5S guidelinesPerform and document inspections per cGMP for work instruction sheet, on device history sheet records, and work instruction sheet tablesFollow all Lock Out/Tag Out rulesDiagnose and troubleshoot any pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical malfunction on a variety of machinesAdjusts assembly machine units for major/minor lot production operations following department specificationRepair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (assembly and packaging machines), including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principlesAssist with uploading programs to controls in the events of program loss or CPU replacementRepair robot arms and controls, including replacing bad boards, motors, encoders, etc.

Conduct TPM activities as requiredInput Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (SAP)Monitor processes, show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issuesPerform weekly, monthly, and as required preventive maintenance (PM)Perform root cause analysis for safety, quality, and processing issuesSuggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our work and environmentComply with all company policiesTroubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment.

Brainstorms with other maintenance personnel, and outside technical support as needed.

Restores damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing, replacing and or adjusting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Controls down time by scheduling repairs with the Maintenance LeaderMaintains good communications with Maintenance LeaderMaintains ongoing list of CMMS work orders with timeline to be addressed and completed.

Assists other maintenance personnel as needed,Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

Ensures the work is completed with technical excellence, and in an efficient and cost-effective fashion.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMust have 3 or more years of experience in a technical, hands-on positionExperience with complex assembly automation requiredExperience in electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulicsKnowledge of PLC programming and troubleshootingAbility to regularly lift up to 40lbs with repetitive movementsAbility to push and pull items and climb up and down laddersAbility to stand and/or walk up to constantly during the shift
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications required and SAP experience preferredAbility to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions requiredUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing conceptsMust be mechanically inclined and can use basic hand toolsMust have strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
