This role ensures that all vehicle modules are flashed with the correct software calibrations, meet engineering specifications, and are production-ready before leaving the assembly plant. The Vehicle Reflasher works closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Information Technology teams to diagnose programming issues and maintain production efficiency. Key Responsibilities Perform software flashing and calibration updates on vehicle electronic control modules using manufacturer-approved diagnostic and programming equipment. Verify that all vehicle software versions meet engineering and production requirements. Diagnose and troubleshoot failed flash events, communication faults, and module programming errors. Document programming activities, software versions, and repair actions in plant tracking systems. Coordinate with Engineering and Quality departments to resolve software-related issues. Perform module replacements and reprogramming when required. Monitor production schedules to ensure vehicles are completed within required cycle times. Follow all plant safety procedures, quality standards, and standardized work instructions. Support new vehicle launches by validating software updates and assisting with process improvements. Escalate recurring software or hardware issues to appropriate engineering support teams. Maintain programming equipment, cables, batteries, and diagnostic tools in proper working condition. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Automotive Technology, Electronics, or related field preferred. Experience working in an automotive manufacturing or dealership environment preferred. Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, CAN/LIN communication networks, and automotive electronic control modules. Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software and vehicle programming tools. Basic understanding of computer networking and Windows-based operating systems. Ability to read wiring diagrams, service information, and technical documentation. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Skills Experience with vehicle software flashing, ECU programming, or module configuration. Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and standardized work. Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Lift up to 35 pounds as needed. Work in varying manufacturing plant conditions including heat, noise, and moving equipment.
