Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Automation Technician to join our growing manufacturing team on 2nd Shift . This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and improving automated production equipment to maximize uptime, efficiency, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance professional with experience supporting automated manufacturing systems, robotics, PLCs, and industrial equipment. This role offers an opportunity to work with advanced automation technologies in a collaborative manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement. Essential Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair automated production equipment, robotics, servo systems, and manufacturing machinery. Identify equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve reliability. Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated production systems. Complete equipment start-ups, shutdowns, upgrades, modifications, and system improvements. Respond promptly to equipment issues to maintain production schedules and operational efficiency. Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic troubleshooting. Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending equipment and process enhancements. Maintain production equipment in clean, safe, and proper working condition. Troubleshoot and assist with PLC-controlled equipment, servo drives, vision systems, and laser marking systems. Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and automation systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment documentation. Complete preventative maintenance work orders and accurately document repairs performed. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production teams to improve equipment performance. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain OSHA-compliant work practices. Maintain an organized and clean work area. Support additional maintenance and engineering projects as assigned. Qualifications Associate Degree in Mechatronics, Factory Automation, Robotics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience maintaining automated manufacturing equipment. Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic systems. Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and troubleshooting techniques. Experience with Allen Bradley Studio 5000 or equivalent ladder logic programming software preferred. Basic knowledge of industrial robotics, including EPSON, FANUC, Universal Robots (UR), or similar robotic systems. Experience working with 2D and 3D CAD software such as CREO Parametric, SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor, or AutoCAD is preferred. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with engineers, maintenance personnel, and production teams. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe shoes. Work Environment Manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels. Exposure to industrial machinery, oils, lubricants, and sealants. Temperature-controlled facility with seasonal temperature variations.
