Purpose Maintains instrumentation and electrical performance for all plant equipment—including performing repairs, installations, operational inspections, troubleshooting and participating in developing improvements. quality workmanship. Duties & Responsibilities
- Fluently uses basic test equipment such as DVM (Digital Voltmeter), Megger, Pneumatic & Milliamp Calibrator to perform repair-oriented activities on a daily basis, based upon immediate needs and maintenance scheduling.
- Must understand, be able to repair, troubleshoot and install new components of medium and low power distribution systems (480V - three phase, 220V/110V single phase) consisting of Motor Control Centers (and all internal components), switchgears, transformers, motors, emergency power distribution systems, and general building electrical.
- Be familiar and able to repair, troubleshoot and install new components of PLC systems (Allen Bradley) to include all PLC hardware (racks, PLC cards, etc), control wiring, thermocouples/wiring), and the control hardware in the field. Understanding PLC and HMI programming is a plus.
- Performs instrumentation troubleshooting, diagnoses and repairs all electrical such as MOV, medium and low voltage starters, motors, lighting system, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and all AC-DC control equipment.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs all instrumentation, auxiliary equipment in the calciner.
- Calibrates process instrumentation such as pressure, temp and level transmitters, analyzers and sensors to meet the requirements for reliable operation, high quality production, precise process control, and ISO compliance.
- Operate mobile equipment as required to perform instrumentation work.
- Reports any problems or safety issues to appropriate personnel.
- Participates in the continuous improvement of product and plant processes and performs other duties as required.
- Computer literacy is essential to performing the duties of this job.
- Assists other maintenance personnel when required. Job Requirements
- Two years related training from college or vocational school; and/or two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, electrical and instrumentation blueprints, schematics, logic diagrams, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to present information to small groups.

- Ability to solve practical problems using available tools, resources, etc. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and/or fingers to handle or feel, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch or squat, twist, crawl, drive (forklifts, loaders, or other vehicles), and climb ladders.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to working near moving mechanical parts, working in high and/or precarious places, with fumes or airborne particles, with toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment does not typically require hearing protection.
- Mechanical and Welding Skills are a plus.
