Outside Plant Fiber Technician Monday-Friday 8AM to 4:30PM Full job description Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. If you are dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable working outdoors, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities Driving Trucks and Operate Machinery using Safety procedures Install fiber optic cable and duct by several different means including manual pulling. This position involves installing and burying fiber optic drop lines and duct from the main network to pedestal or terminal Safely Operate fiber blowing machines. trencher, and boring and related industrial equipment to install fiber optic cables accurately and efficiently. Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems wile operating different electronic detection equipment, to locate and mark underground utilities within set accuracy limits Ability to read and interpret utility maps to identify size and type of underground utilities and accurately mark the location of underground utilities while Following utility locate markings and safety procedures Maintain a clean and safe work environment Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding job progress Job Requirements Valid driver's license needed. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures Experience in telecom, construction, or utility work is a plus but not required Ability to work the schedule including overtime as needed. Strong verbal and written communication ability Ability to work independently or as a team player. Ability to be added to company auto insurance policy Fiber installation or telecom work Construction, utility, or landscaping experience Experience working outdoors or in field service roles
