Job Description

6+ month contract/ contract-to-hire
  • Person MUST be strong in Soldering of micro parts and JSTD's
  • Boards are mostly SMT Key Responsibilities
  • Help build, assemble, wire, and test electronic systems, modules, and prototypes for defense applications.
  • Perform electrical testing, data collection, instrumentation setup, and troubleshooting of circuits and components.
  • Conduct verification, validation, and functional checks according to test plans and engineering procedures.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering drawings.
  • Document results, test setups, and system configurations using Ultra's engineering and quality systems.
  • Maintain equipment, organize lab workspaces, and enforce safety and configuration control practices.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to support project goals.
  • Participate in occasional travel (up to 15% ) for field testing, training, and customer support. Required Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or a related technical degree
  • Ability to interpret schematics, diagrams, and engineering documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
  • 4+ years proficiency in the use of digital test meters, oscilloscopes, analog/digital test equipment, product firmware/software installation, cable construction.
  • 4+ years proficiency in troubleshooting electronics and electro-mechanical systems down to the component level.
  • Experience in PCB rework. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DoD, Navy, or defense electronics .
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD electronics, EMI/EMC considerations, or ruggedized systems.
  • Knowledge of cable harnessing, and prototype fabrication.
  • Experience with test instrumentation including RF, automation or data acquisition systems.
