Automation Technician Pierceton, IN Monday-Friday (Nights 11pm - 7am) $35-$42/hr depending on experience including $1 shift premium Automotive / Industrial Manufacturing We are working with a leading industrial manufacturing company in Pierceton, IN that is looking to add an experienced Automation Technician to their team. This is a hands-on role supporting automated manufacturing equipment, robotic systems, PLCs, and production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities as a
Automation Technician:
Troubleshoot, program, and integrate automated manufacturing systems Support and maintain PLC-controlled equipment and robotic systems Perform debugging, processor backups, and automation enhancements Assist with CNC programming, motion control programming, and HMI systems Support Fanuc robotic systems including teach pendant programming Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation-related issues Maintain and improve Allen Bradley PLC, HMI, VFD, and Servo systems Assist with defect detection and scrap reduction initiatives Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings Work with Engineering and Quality teams to improve manufacturing reliability Participate in automation upgrades and implementation of new systems Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and robotic safety standards Document troubleshooting, repairs, and system modifications
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years of experience with industrial automation systems preferred Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC 5, 500, and 5000 systems Experience with Siemens Step 7 programming preferred Fanuc FAPT Ladder
II & III
programming experience preferred Experience with robotic integration and teach pendant programming Knowledge of Ethernet, Profibus, DH+, Serial, and Profinet networks Experience with HMIs, VFDs, Servo systems, and motion controls Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams AutoCAD and Microsoft Office experience preferred
