A Photonics Technician is responsible for assembling, dismantling, installing, calibrating, testing, operating and repairing lasers. They also may perform alignment procedures, clean optics, integrate lasers with opto-mechanics parts, work on laser documentation and troubleshoot.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Under minimal supervision, operates laser machines to process parts to blueprint specifications, following instructions and applying knowledge of operator procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Runs multiple CNC laser machines. Conduct first piece and in-process quality checks. Maintain tooling inventory, equipment, and supplies. Review, investigation, and completion of required daily documentation. Utilizes and abides by requirements and safety procedures. Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions. Completes all required documentation and SPC required. Other duties as assigned.
OCCASIONAL DUTIES
May set up laser and computer as necessary. Assist in other areas of production, as needed. Once employee demonstrates competency in position, may be required to train others in similar roles.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
High School Graduate, or equivalent. Computer experience preferred.
SKILLS:
Ability to read blueprints and familiarization with schedules.
