Job Description
The Installation Technician is responsible for performing basic to advanced installations, disconnects and service changes for residential and business customers for POTS services, IPTV, and high-speed internet services. Perform basic troubleshooting and repair for services from the fiber terminal, or the ONT to customer's electronic devices (TV, Modem, and Wireless devices etc.). Maintain correct notes of work completed and billing codes. The installation technician will report directly to the Market Manager. Job Responsibilities Pay is based on experience. Commute to Shelbyville, Columbus, Franklin, Bloomington and other surrounding areas to install fiber optic services. Install and troubleshoot services from terminal to CPE Provide in-depth customer education on products and services Upsell customer by offering additional services Meet key performance metrics Maintain professional appearance and attitude Enter correct notes and billing codes of work performed Activate in routing before 8 a.m. on scheduled days Ensure where's my tech is activated Place orders for materials and equipment as needed and retrieve Operate and maintain company vehicle/equipment safely and professionally Job Requirements Time management skills Problem solving skills Communication skills Ability to work in various conditions (attics, crawlspaces, weather, etc.) Ability to work kneeling or standing for extended periods of time Ability to climb ladder with proper equipment Ability to work without direct oversight Ability to work with basic hand tools Ability to work overtime when necessary, including weekends and holidays Ability to work in various markets when necessary Willing to undergo Background Check Willing to undergo MVR check Willing to undergo Drug Screening Key Qualities Integrity and honesty Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to be professional with customers and fellow associates
