Commissioning Technicians participate in the estimating, tracking, start up and commission of projects, and will be the customer interface for all technical requirements of assigned projects. You will provide expertise and knowledge throughout the system or service project lifecycle on customer sites. O ur Commissioning Technician's tech nical expertise, project oversight, and customer interaction contribute to efficient project execution, satisfied clients, and optimized long-term performance of systems. As a Commissioning Technician, you will: Attend pre-booking meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project scope. Maintains standard list of preferred parts for use in estimates and designs. Participate in project manager to engineer turnover meetings. Makes recommendations to design team related to productivity improvement and cost reduction to increase customer satisfaction and increase profitability of jobs. Perform Quality Assurance peer review of engineering documents created by NOC/GOC to ensure they align with customer engineering standards. These documents include, but are not limited to design submittals, DT+/ABT database, PPCL, and graphics. Act as field liaison for all technical issues that require engineering or DDS rework. Interfaces with appropriate teams through ECT on behalf of the PM. Build and deploy Desigo engineering server, x500/LOBO, eCumulus w/ cRSP connection to each project site, as required by the PM. Installs, loads, and deploys Desigo, including graphics package for all projects. Lead technical effort for design-build opportunities without plans or specifications, including controls takeovers. Provide design input for network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected through Ethernet, Siemens P2, Modbus or BACNET. Main point of contact for customer IT teams for network requirements. Organize and maintain local templates and customer standards for design, database and graphics. Maintain active and updated panel and project backups for all projects in a central repository. Main point of contact, internal and external, to support all Siemens software upgrades. Point of escalation for specialists to revise programming, perform point to point, system startup, 3 rd party integration, and sequence checkout, commissioning, and validation processes. Participate substantial completion process including finalization of punchlist, return of redlines, as-built documentation, and provide customer training. Act as the local lead technical resource to project managers, sales, customers, and field specialists. Serve as the local lead and expert for critical/validated sites, including protocol development and execution. Maintain regular contact with technical support functions, such as ZTE, ZINE, DDS, Tech Support, etc. to facilitate timely resolution of technical issues. Early adopter and trainee for new products and technologies for use in the branch including 3 rd party devices/controllers, block programming (PXC-D) and Desigo Room Automation (DRA). Act as project manager for all aspects of small and medium building automation projects. Y ou will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years' experience in the installation and/or maintenance of Building Automation systems Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
