Job Description
Position Summary:
Property Maintenance performs journeyman-level repair work and preventative maintenance on all county-owned properties. This position includes work related to heating, minor electrical repairs, painting, plumbing, construction, and working in elevated areas. The technician also coordinates with the Maintenance Supervisor for contracting larger projects and may perform other related duties as required by the Maintenance Supervisor or the County Judge/Executive.Key Responsibilities:
Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment and building structures. Perform tasks involving heating, minor electrical work, painting, plumbing, and general construction. Work safely at elevated heights as needed. Report to the Property Maintenance Supervisor regarding extensive work projects requiring external contractors. Execute any other duties as assigned by the Property Maintenance Supervisor or County Judge/Executive. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lifting, moving, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds. Work will involve exposure to heights, construction environments, and the use of power tools. Exposure to varying weather conditions during outdoor tasks.Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
High school diploma or GED; completion of a vocational training program is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in building trades, including maintenance and repair of heating, plumbing, and electrical systems. Valid Kentucky driver's license in good standing. Strong understanding of building maintenance practices and repair work. Knowledge of safe work practices and the ability to adhere to safety regulations. Ability to troubleshoot and repair heating, plumbing, and electrical systems. Proficiency in operating power tools and equipment relevant to maintenance tasks. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and coordination skills when reporting project needs or collaborating with team members.Working Hours:
Scheduled for 40 hours per week and overtime as needed. Position isNon Exempt Job Type:
