Job Description
At Optimize Generator People—Louisiana's top‑ranked Generac dealer and a two‑time Generac Service Award winner—we are looking for an experienced small engine mechanic to join our growing Service & Maintenance Team. Prior experience diagnosing and repairing small engines and/or residential generators experience is strongly preferred.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled engine repair technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and excellent customer service skills. If you have experience in Generac Generator repair and maintenance, automotive repair, or similar fields, we encourage you to apply. Supervisory experience is beneficial.Core Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on Generac home standby generators
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance appointments on Generac Generators
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot problems
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with Homeowners
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repair
- Communicate with all assigned customers before and after completing the job assigned
- Maintain proper care of all assigned tools, equipment and assigned vehicle
- Complete Warranty Claims as warranty jobs are completed
- Join on-call rotation for after-hours call outs
- Complete Final walk-through and collect installation payments as scheduled
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of generator or small engine maintenance experience, strongly preferred
- Mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with various tools and equipment
- Experience reading and interpreting schematics
- Previous experience in Generac Generator repair and maintenance preferred
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass a background , drug and motor‑vehicle (MVR) check.
- Sales or Management experience is a plus
Job Type:
Full-time Pay :
$20.00 -$27.00 DOE Training & Certifications- Generac Air Cooled & Liquid‑Cooled certifications, beneficial but not required
- Onboarding includes safety orientation, hands on and digital workflow training Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50-60 lbs. and climb ladders up to 10'
- Frequent standing, kneeling, and crouching
- Daily driving between jobs
- Outdoor work in varying weather
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, weekends as needed
- On call rotation
- Overtime
