Job Description

Lead Fiber/Cable Technician Location:
14865 Gold Coast Rd, Omaha, NE 68138
Duration:
Through the end of November. Overview TEKsystems is seeking 2 Lead Fiber/Cable Technicians to support a structured cabling installation project in Omaha, NE. The team will be responsible for installing, terminating and supporting fiber optic, Cat6, and instrumentation cabling systems within a commercial/industrial environment. Lead Technician Responsibilities Lead and direct helpers on daily installation activities. Install, route, dress, and secure fiber optic, Cat6, and instrumentation cabling. Perform fiber terminations and testing. Utilize Fluke and other testing equipment to certify cabling installations. Read and interpret project drawings and cable schedules. Ensure all work is completed safely and meets quality standards. Coordinate with onsite supervision regarding daily progress and project needs. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Required Qualifications Experience leading low-voltage, structured cabling, or fiber installation projects. Strong background with fiber optic and Cat6 installations. Experience performing fiber terminations and cable testing. Ability to operate and interpret results from Fluke testers and other test equipment. Knowledge of industry installation standards and best practices. Ability to work independently while leading a small crew.

Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30
PM Lunch:

PM Overtime:
Not currently planned, but may become available based on project needs. Requirements OSHA 10 Certification Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen Ability to pass a background check MEWP/Lift Certification preferred (training/certification can be provided onsite if needed) Dress Code & PPE Work boots Jeans/work pants Shirts with sleeves PPE gear will be provided. Intermediate to Lead Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
