Purpose of the job To maintain the operating efficiency of site equipment, and to repair and troubleshoot system and process issues with strong electrical and mechanical demonstrated competencies. Main responsibility areas/Essential Functions
- Adhere to all safety policies, OSHA regulations, ISO14001, ISO 45001 and ISO9001 standards and policies.
- Maintain and measure equipment performance to specification
- Good understanding of AC and DC drive systems.
- Ability to use laptop to interface with machine/equipment control and ladder logic.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical systems and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize trade skills such as working with Programmable Logic Controllers, set up and calibration, fusing, wire sizing, and interfacing with computer programs.
- Design and install conduit run.
- Rebuild or install electric or instrumentation components such as logic controllers, actuators and breaker panels.
- Read and analyze task or project assignments in order to design and implement necessary repair or replacement.
- Implement preventative maintenance techniques to prevent equipment failure and product loss,
- Learn new equipment, processes and skills, manage time and complete work assignments.
- Perform as a team player, managing time and work assignment completion.
- Participate in safety, quality and creating a lean culture.
- Must be willing to assist and train other employees to improve team strength and enhancement of their personal abilities while maintaining a keen focus on everyone's safety. Additional Accountabilities
- Required to work weekends and holidays.
- Maintain after hours call availability.
- Must carry company cell phone if required.
- Required to work any shift and any rotation. This may be changed at any time as needed to meet company needs and demands.
- Performs additional duties as requested. Experience and education (minimum level of knowledge and skills to fulfill one's responsibilities) Work experience
- 4-6 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Formal education
- Technical Associates Degree preferred in mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- High school diploma required. Required competencies
- Knowledge of motor starters.
- Knowledge of electric test instruments.
- Ability to align equipment, install bearings and weld.
- Knowledge of Pneumatic and Electronic Transmitters (SMART), PLC controllers, VFDs, scanners, meters and electrical interfacing.
- Master Electrician's License preferred.
- Extensive PLC programming knowledge.
- Develop HMI systems/programs and Scada Systems, Programming.
- Ability to set up networking and automation systems as well as control system integration.
- Design/develop communication systems that assist machine operation.
- Understand Ethernet and wireless control systems.
- Ability to use multiple computer programs/systems including MS Office Suite.
