Job Description

Optical Assembly Technician responsible for assembling, inspecting, testing, and documenting precision optical and opto-mechanical components used in laser processing systems. Job Requirements Technical school graduate or equivalent relevant experience. Experience assembling precision opto-mechanical or optical subassemblies. Experience working with optics and optical assemblies. Experience inspecting optical components for dimensional, cosmetic, or functional requirements. Experience using optical measurement tools, gauges, and meters. Experience using precision assembly hand tools and light power tools. Experience following engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly documentation. Experience completing manufacturing or ERP work order documentation. Ability to support inspection, testing, and serialization requirements for optical components. Preferred Skills Experience with laser processing systems. Experience testing optical assemblies against defined performance standards. Experience with incoming and outgoing optical inspection. Experience with optical component serialization and traceability. Experience supporting precision assembly work centers. Experience generating or revising manufacturing work instructions. Experience with ERP systems and production work orders. Experience identifying errors or omissions in engineering and manufacturing documentation. Job Responsibilities Assemble precision opto-mechanical and optical subassemblies. Inspect incoming and outgoing optical components. Perform serialization and traceability activities for optics and assemblies. Test optical assemblies to verify compliance with defined standards. Use optical measurement tools, gauges, and meters during inspection and testing activities. Support precision assembly operations during periods of increased production demand. Assist with development of new product and subassembly documentation. Prepare and update work instructions for assembly and inspection activities. Identify documentation errors or omissions and provide technical feedback to engineering. Remove obsolete documentation from active production use when required. Complete ERP work order paperwork and production records. Support proper job processing, material traceability, and production costing documentation.
