Job Description

Generator Technician / Electrical Specialist Generator Technicians and Licensed Electrical Specialists install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair residential and commercial standby power systems. This role focuses on turnkey generator installations, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and ensuring all electrical work complies with applicable codes and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Installation & Integration Perform turnkey installations of residential and commercial backup generators. Complete equipment placement, electrical connections, and system integration. Ensure proper startup and commissioning of newly installed systems. Maintenance & Testing Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections. Perform system startups, load testing, and simulated outage testing. Identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions. Diagnostics & Repair Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical failures in generator systems. Repair or replace defective components and restore system performance. Use diagnostic tools and technical documentation to resolve complex issues. Code Compliance & Safety Ensure all work meets local, state, and national electrical codes. Follow manufacturer specifications, safety procedures, and industry best practices. Maintain a safe and organized work environment. Documentation & Customer Service Complete service reports, maintenance records, and parts usage documentation. Communicate findings, recommendations, and repair needs to customers. Provide professional and courteous customer service during all service visits. Qualifications Factory certifications from major standby generator manufacturers (such as Kohler, Generac, or Briggs & Stratton) preferred. Valid electrician license or equivalent technical, electrical, or mechanical experience. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding work. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and in confined spaces when required.
Pay:
$27.00 - $40.00 per hour
