Job Description

Technician II (2424) Ballistics Instrumentation (BI) - ATSS Conducts test projects in coordination with engineers and test officers involving techniques related to manufacturing and testing ballistic-specific cables and ballistic electronic circuits; troubleshooting ballistic transducers; assembles and troubleshoots anthropomorphic test devices.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates and troubleshoots systems such as Count-down Automated Procedures (CAP); ballistic data acquisition systems; high energy detonation systems; virtual scoring systems and Doppler radar
  • Installs and troubleshoots transducers and ballistic data acquisition systems by interpreting ballistic test data
  • Processes the data according to well-defined methods and designated formulas
  • Plans how to accomplish assignments in the most efficient and economical manner, according to a test plan, test procedure, reference documents, and precedents
  • Selects and adapts methods and procedures to unique situations
  • Performs inventory management and prepares supply requests Qualifications Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Must have 3 years of applicable experience or at least 60 credit hours or an associate's degree and 1-year of applicable experience; or 30 credit hours and 2 years of applicable experience; or completion of a formal training program and 1-year of applicable experience
  • Shall possess basic computer skills

Physical Qualifications
  • The work of this position is performed in the field w you are subject to the environment and sometimes in an environmentally controlled office environment
  • Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time
  • Must be capable of lifting 25 pounds unassisted
  • Must have good manual dexterity
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned
