If you can read a blueprint like a map, tame 480V power distribution, and make ladder logic sing, this role puts you at the center of a mission: keep a coal transshipment facility running safely and efficiently—day after day. Your mission Own the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems across conveyors and industrial machinery. Build and refurbish control panels; manage 220/480V power distribution; execute preventive maintenance programs that head off downtime. Support and optimize AC/DC motors and drives, PLC controls, and industrial sensors (limit and proximity). Turn schematics, diagrams, and blueprints into action; meet electrical codes and apply ladder logic to diagnose fast.
Lead with safety:
perform inspections and uphold OSHA best practices—LOTO, confined space, fall protection, hot work, mobile equipment operation, and proper PPE. Cross-train to safely operate loaders, dozers, locomotives, and cranes—and step in when operations need an extra hand. Safely operate equipment used to transfer coal from rail to vessel. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Deep familiarity with industrial electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols. Calm, analytical troubleshooting—plus clear written and verbal communication. Hands-on experience with PLCs and ladder logic. Comfort working at heights, in the elements, and in confined spaces. Eligible to obtain and maintain a TWIC. Willing to work overtime and rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends. Journeyman or Master Electrician credential strongly preferred.
