Electronic Technician I, Dept. of Facility Management (Turkey Thicket), 8hrs/12mo, Ad Closes 09-04-26
Considerable knowledge of the standard methods, tools, and equipment used in the repair of audiovisual and other electronic equipment and systems. Working knowledge of the basic and applied principles of electronic and electrical theory. Ability to detect by inspection defects in equipment or systems and to make the proper adjustments or repairs. Ability to work from equipment manuals and technical drawings. Skill in the use and care of tools, equipment, and materials of the trade. Good human relations and communications skills. Knowledge of and the ability to meet the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS).
Job Specific Information:
Preference will be given to applicants who specialize in one of the following: fire alarm systems, security systems, and public announcement systems. A written and /or hands on assessment may be given. The wage range for this position is between $28.57 and $42.13 per hour, based on years of service. Under direction, performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of audiovisual and other electronic equipment and systems. Work involves responsibility for performing a variety of skilled tasks in accordance with standard practices of the electronic trade. Installation, servicing and minor repairs are performed at the schools and major repair work is performed in the shop. Assignments are received either orally or through written work orders and may be accompanied by technical specifications and diagrams. Work is often performed independently, subject to inspection for compliance with instructions and conformity with accepted safety standards.Physical Demands:
Ability to perform work requiring physical exertion and climbing.Special Requirements:
Completion of the MCPS Electronics Test at the required score.Knowledge Skills Abilities:
