Job Title:
Advanced Repair Technician Job Description The Advanced Repair Technician performs in-depth diagnostics, repair, and testing of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and related electronic assemblies. This role focuses on board-level troubleshooting, component-level repair, prototype support, and test fixture maintenance to ensure high-quality, reliable electronic products. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of electronics experience, including hands-on work with PCB boards and electronic repairs. Ability to program, read, and communicate with integrated circuits and electronic chips. Experience with PCB board diagnostics, including identifying faults at the component and board level. At least 5 years of soldering experience, including through-hole and surface mount (SMT) soldering. Proficiency in electronic repair and PCB repair, including board-level component replacement. Strong soldering skills for electronic assembly, including fine-pitch and SMT components. Experience with electronic assembly, wiring, and electrical assembly. Ability to use oscilloscopes and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair PCBs. Familiarity with surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole components. Knowledge of IPC standards and inspection practices for electronic assemblies. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation. Experience with inspection of solder joints, components, and assemblies to ensure quality. Mechanical assembly skills related to electronic and PCB assemblies. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in an office-style manufacturing space focused on automotive electronic components. You will work with parts and assemblies that may be dirty, sticky, or grimy, reflecting their use in real-world automotive applications. The facility is air-conditioned to maintain a comfortable working temperature while you perform detailed electronic diagnostics, soldering, assembly, and testing at dedicated workstations equipped with scopes, test fixtures, and electronic tools. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
