The Instrumentation Technician II will install test equipment in development vehicles such as thermocouples, transducers, sensors, fiberoptics, accelerometers, strain gages and data acquisition systems. The role will build, modify, adjust and calibrate installed devices. This role will build and install low voltage wire harnesses to drawings and schematics. The Instrumentation Technician II will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.
As an Instrumentation Technician II, you will be responsible for:
Build and install low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring harnesses, auxiliary batteryand electrical systemsInstall, adjust and calibrate sensors, shunts, fiber optics, accelerometers, strain gages and dataacquisition systemsCollaborate with Customers, Fabricators, and Mechanics to identify required locations for sensorinstallation according to Instrumentation Requirement List (IRL)Perform complete functional inspection and prove-out of instrumentation according toInstrumentation Quality Assurance (IQA)Diagnose faulty low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring systems and repairWork with electronic functional and measurement tools, such as power supplies, functiongenerators, and multimeterMaintain records by entering notes into service repair requestsKeep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshootingbreakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairsParticipate in daily shop organization and clean-upTo be considered as an Instrumentation Technician II, you will need:
High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 4 years of experience as an Instrumentation TechnicianExperience performing soldering, crimping, tube bending, component layout and packaging onvehicles or subsystems Able to follow procedures or work instructions provided for assigned projects, such as workrequests, shop procedures and shop manuals, publications or schematic diagramsGood organizational skills and works well independently and as part of a teamGood communication and time management skillsGood attention to detailA successful candidate may also have:
