Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Maintenance Technician to join a dynamic team in Grand Rapids, MI. This role involves delivering efficient, high-quality maintenance and repair services across multiple commercial properties. The technician will perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance using a variety of trade skills including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and HVAC. The position requires hands-on work at on-site locations, ensuring facilities remain in optimal condition and meet safety standards. The ideal candidate will be proactive in customer relations, capable of managing work orders via technology, and committed to safety compliance. Responsibilities:
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs in accordance with work orders Perform minor plumbing tasks such as unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, and maintaining sensors Conduct routine painting, drywall repairs, and general carpentry to maintain facility aesthetics Handle minor electrical repairs, including replacing fixtures, switches, and outlets, within legal scope Inspect and assess assets, documenting service and inspection reports using digital tools Coordinate with clients and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and clear communication Obtain necessary materials for repairs and maintenance tasks Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in regular safety training and meetings Provide estimates for larger projects and assist with emergency repairs as needed
Qualifications:
Top Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant professional certifications preferred 2-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Proven ability to complete work orders efficiently and accurately Familiarity with building mechanical systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) Strong communication skills, both written and oral Experience using digital work order systems and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to perform work following all safety regulations
