Full Job Description Machine Installation Technician Travel:
Approximately 50% domestic and international
Time Away:
No more than 2 weeks at a time

Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), tuition assistance, and more Overview Our client is seeking a Machine Installation Technician to install, commission, and validate large custom industrial machinery at customer manufacturing facilities. This is a hands-on field position combining machine installation, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, PLC diagnostics, equipment startup, commissioning, and customer support . Candidates may come from either a stronger mechanical installation background or a controls/validation background. Approximately 50% domestic and international travel is required , with employees typically away from home for no more than two weeks at a time. Responsibilities Install and commission large custom industrial machinery at customer facilities. Perform mechanical and electrical setup, installation, and equipment integration. Support machine validation, acceptance testing, startup, and commissioning. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related issues during installation and startup. Diagnose equipment problems in the field and coordinate with internal technical teams to implement solutions. Verify machinery is operating according to project specifications and customer requirements. Work directly with customer operators and technical personnel during equipment startup, testing, and handoff. Train customers on equipment operation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and related documentation. Document installation, validation, testing, and outstanding technical issues. Coordinate with engineering, project, installation, and customer teams to keep field activities on schedule. Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, installation processes, and future machine designs. Qualifications 3+ years of experience installing, commissioning, servicing, or troubleshooting industrial machinery or automated equipment at customer sites. Hands-on experience working with large custom machinery or industrial automation equipment . Strong working knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment. Strong field troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment issues. Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Comfortable working directly with customers during machine installation, startup, and troubleshooting. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% domestically and internationally . Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport. Titles Encouraged to Apply Candidates with experience as a Machine Installation Technician, Field Service Technician, Field Service Engineer, Commissioning Technician, Industrial Automation Technician, Machine Validation Technician, Equipment Installation Technician, or Automation Service Technician are encouraged to apply.
