Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Instrument Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, sterilizing, and managing surgical instruments and medical equipment to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Your expertise will support clinical teams by providing reliable, well-maintained instruments that meet strict health and safety regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care quality through meticulous instrument management and technical proficiency. Responsibilities Perform thorough inspection, cleaning, sterilization, and packaging of surgical instruments using aseptic techniques to prevent contamination. Manage inventory levels of surgical tools and supplies, ensuring proper storage, tracking, and restocking of equipment. Maintain accurate records of instrument processing, sterilization cycles, and equipment maintenance logs. Collaborate with clinical staff to understand specific instrument needs for various procedures and ensure timely availability. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sterilization equipment and other medical devices to ensure optimal performance. Follow strict protocols related to physiology knowledge, anatomy, and sterile processing standards to uphold safety regulations. Assist in training new team members on proper instrument handling, sterilization procedures, and safety practices. Requirements Proven experience in inventory management within a healthcare or sterile processing environment. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures. Familiarity with sterile processing techniques and aseptic procedures essential for infection control. Ability to operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners efficiently. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for record keeping and inventory tracking. Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with clinical teams and other staff members. Certification or training in sterile processing or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
