This role collaborates with cross-functional engineering teams to develop diagnostic calibrations, support regulatory compliance activities, perform testing and validation, and assist in the execution of diagnostic development plans. Key Responsibilities Support execution of OBD diagnostic development plans and project deliverables, including tracking status and schedule adherence. Develop, validate, and troubleshoot diagnostic strategies and calibrations; assist in the development and execution of OBD verification procedures. Develop and maintain diagnostic calibration data for assigned powertrain programs; support integration of new diagnostic software and calibration features. Collaborate with calibration engineers, software developers, and product development teams to resolve diagnostic issues and participate in technical reviews and working group meetings. Support communication of diagnostic requirements, program timing, and technical issues within the product development team. Assist with implementation of future model year diagnostic requirements and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with OBD regulations and vehicle requirements. Participate in calibration comparison reviews, validation activities, and maintain accurate engineering records and project documentation. Evaluate competitor vehicles and diagnostic systems for benchmarking purposes; research emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory developments. Prepare technical summaries and reports for engineering management. Participate in technical discussions with suppliers and engineering partners; support issue resolution involving diagnostic hardware, software, and calibration systems. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related engineering discipline; Master's degree preferred. 3-7 years of experience in automotive or commercial vehicle engineering. Minimum 2 years of experience in OBD systems, engine controls, calibration, or powertrain development. Knowledge of onboard diagnostic (OBD) systems, engine management systems, and applicable OBD regulations and industry standards. Familiarity with diesel engine controls, emissions systems, and diagnostic strategies. Understanding of calibration development and validation processes, including emissions and engine dyno testing methodologies. Experience using calibration and measurement tools such as ETAS INCA or similar systems. Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink. Hands-on experience with CAN communication and CAN data acquisition/analysis tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard engineering software tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
