Job Description

Our team is looking for a skilled Automation or Robotics Technician to oversee the performance of automated machinery and robotic units in our plastics production facility. Your primary focus will involve the upkeep, repair, optimization, and diagnostic analysis of the automation systems utilized in our plastic trimming and routing workflows. We are specifically seeking professionals who possess practical, direct experience in the robotic routing of plastic parts. Please note that background in injection molding or automotive assembly alone will not satisfy the requirements for this specific role. Core Duties Identify, analyze, and resolve malfunctions within robotic and automated production machinery. Facilitate the smooth operation of robotic cutting, trimming, and routing tasks for plastic parts. Execute both corrective and routine preventative maintenance schedules for all automation assets. Evaluate and fix issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation-based systems. Resolve errors involving robot controllers, sensors, motors, and peripheral hardware. Modify robotic configurations and programming to ensure production standards and quality benchmarks are met. Minimize operational delays by promptly addressing equipment failures and uncovering the root causes of persistent technical problems. Collaborate on the installation, modification, and enhancement of new and existing automation projects. Partner effectively with engineering, maintenance, operations, and production staff to achieve common goals. Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by strictly adhering to all established safety protocols. Essential Qualifications Proven background in a hands-on capacity such as a Robotics Technician, Automation Maintenance Technician, or similar technical role. Mandatory practical experience specifically related to robotic routing or manual routing of plastic materials. Extensive proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting industrial robotic systems. Demonstrated capability to diagnose and repair automated systems across both electrical and mechanical domains. Technical expertise in evaluating pneumatic systems, motors, sensors, controls, and related automation hardware. Ability to independently resolve technical challenges to help ensure maximum equipment uptime for the production floor. Solid grasp of industrial safety standards and the execution of preventative maintenance routines. Desired Skills Proficiency in teaching, programming, or fine-tuning industrial robotic units. Practical experience with PLC troubleshooting. Familiarity with robotic routing systems or CNC machinery. Prior work history within a plastics manufacturing setting that includes cutting, trimming, or routing processes.
