Job Description
Job Overview Glassman Subaru is seeking an experienced Subaru Master Technician to join our growing service department in Southfield, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician who takes pride in accurate diagnostics, quality repairs, and professional workmanship. Our service operation provides a steady flow of work, strong management support, modern equipment, and the opportunity to build a long-term career with an established automotive group. We are looking for a technician who understands Subaru vehicles, follows manufacturer repair procedures, and can properly diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical concerns. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair Subaru vehicles accurately and efficiently Perform engine, transmission, drivetrain, suspension, steering, brake, electrical, HVAC, and emissions repairs Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs according to Subaru standards Use Subaru diagnostic equipment, scan tools, technical service information, and manufacturer resources Properly document diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, and work performed Complete all required multipoint inspections and supporting visual evidence Communicate additional repair needs clearly to service advisors Maintain accurate time punches and repair order documentation Follow all dealership, manufacturer, safety, and environmental procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area Assist less-experienced technicians when needed Participate in required Subaru training and certification programs Maintain productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction standards Qualifications Current or previous Subaru Master Technician certification strongly preferred Significant Subaru dealership or manufacturer-specific repair experience Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting ability ASE certifications preferred Ability to perform major mechanical repairs, including engine and transmission work Familiarity with Subaru diagnostic systems and manufacturer repair procedures Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Must provide or have access to the tools necessary to perform the position Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing repairs correctly Dependable attendance and professional communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume service department What We Offer Highly competitive compensation based on experience, certifications, and production Consistent workflow and strong earning potential Modern service facility and diagnostic equipment Manufacturer training and continued certification opportunities Supportive and experienced management team Paid time off Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) program Employee vehicle purchase and service benefits Long-term advancement opportunities within Glassman Automotive Group Schedule Full-time position Day shift Schedule will be discussed during the interview process About Glassman Subaru Glassman Automotive Group has served the Metro Detroit community for decades.
