loop detectors and school crossings, including all associated electronic components.
PERFORMS
preventative maintenance of controller and support equipment, cleaning of signal lenses and cabinets, and field appearance maintenance. KEEPS maintenance and timing records. CARRIES a pager and will be on-call 24 hours a day for 1 week, to respond to Emergency calls after normal working hours. This normally occurs every Third week.

KNOWLEDGE
of electronics and electric circuitry and wiring.

of solid-state control and switching equipment. ABILITY to read and understands schematic and wiring diagrams. SKILLS in the use of common hand and power tools as well as electronic test equipment. BASIC computer skills required; experience with Microsoft Office products preferred. VALID Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker endorsement or be able to obtain one within 90 days from date of employment.
REQUIRED
to be on-call and/or carry a pager and respond to emergencies as needed. ABILITY to utilize a multimeter. ABILITY to work with live electricity while up to 30' off ground. Materials and Equipment Directly Used Uses a variety of equipment including hand tools, power tools such as concrete saw and chainsaw, electric meters and computerized test equipment. Operates a personal computer. There may be times when use of a personal vehicle may be required. Working Environment/Physical Requirements Work is performed in an outdoor setting with a variety of weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Works in live traffic. Works with live electricity. Occasional lifting of 75 pounds and in excess of 75 pounds with assistance. Periods of bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching. Work up to a height of 30 feet from vehicle lift. Work involves availability for after-hour emergencies as scheduled. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. One to three years prior experience preferred. Must be work zone safety certified within one year. All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment. Any job offer made by the City is contingent upon the applicant passing the drug screening and background check.
