Bozeman's best second hand store, Do Overs, is looking for a part time, detail-oriented Electronics Specialist to inspect, test, and evaluate pre-owned consumer electronics. In this role, you will primarily focus on assessing the functionality and cosmetic condition of used cameras, video game consoles, audio equipment and handheld electronics . Your assessments will directly determine item grading, resale readiness, and repair needs.

Key Responsibilities Functional Testing:

Run comprehensive diagnostics on video game consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo), digital cameras (DSLR, mirrorless, point-and-shoot), speakers, headsets, misc electronics and related accessories (controllers, lenses, power supplies).

Cosmetic Grading:

Inspect devices for physical wear, scratches, dents, or missing parts.

Data Sanitization:

Factory reset all console software, clear internal storage, and ensure the complete removal of previous user data.

Component Verification:

Test secondary features including Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity, disc drives, card slots, camera sensors, shutter mechanisms, and button responsiveness.

Documentation & Sorting:

Record results accurately and route items to appropriate business to sell or recycle if unable to be sold for parts.

Qualifications & Skills Technical Knowledge:

Familiarity with major video game platforms, camera brands (Sony, Canon, Nikon), and basic consumer electronics operation. Attention to

Detail:

Ability to spot minor cosmetic flaws, screen defects, or subtle mechanical anomalies (e.g., stick drift, lens scratches).

Communication:

Collaborate across teams as needed.

Experience:

Previous experience in electronics repair, retail tech support, or warehouse quality control is a plus, but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit at a testing station for extended periods. Manual dexterity to handle small components, cables, and tools. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
