Job Description

CTG is seeking to fill a Depot Technician I position for our client.
Location:
Durham, NC Duration:
12+ months, with possibility for extension
Duties:
Diagnose and perform bench-level repairs on point-of-sale (POS) computer equipment and related hardware from multiple manufacturers Repair devices such as printers, displays, system units, and associated components Utilize diagnostic tools, mechanical testing, and visual inspection to identify defects and required repairs Replace parts, clean equipment (internal and external), and ensure proper restoration of devices Accurately document repair activity, parts usage, and status updates using host-based systems Perform pick/pack/ship functions to fulfill customer parts orders as needed Maintain accurate inventory and assist with restocking of materials and supplies Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow established safety procedures and quality standards Support onboarding and training of new team members as needed Work collaboratively within a fast-paced depot repair environment to meet quality and productivity targets
Skills:
Minimum 1 year of experience in electronics repair, hardware assembly, or similar technical environment Ability to follow technical procedures, testing scripts, and repair documentation accurately Strong familiarity with hand tools and small component-level repair work Basic computer skills and ability to use system-based tools for documentation and reporting Strong attention to detail with a process-oriented mindset Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Ability to consistently produce high-quality work in a fast-paced setting
Experience:
1+ year of hands-on experience in electronics or computer hardware repair preferred Experience in a depot repair or technical service environment is a plus
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent Technical training or coursework in electronics, IT, or related field preferred Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
