Job Description

Instrumentation Specialist Synoligo Biotechnologies, Inc Headquartered in Morrisville, NC, Synoligo Biotechnologies is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) focused solely on the research, development, and manufacturing of diagnostic and therapeutic oligonucleotides. We provide fast, one-stop services with high-end preclinical solutions and CMC consultancy. We help our customers navigate any CMC issue they may encounter, whether it's starting raw materials or final product manufacturing for clinical trials. As an Instrumentation Specialist, you will help keeping production instrument in working order. Your role will be an integral part of a growing biotechnology company, where development and impact are at the forefront. What you'll do in this role Install, configure, and calibrate chemistry lab instrumentation equipment (HPLC, Mass spectrometer, DNA/Peptide synthesizer, liquid handler, vaccum pump, various sensors, transmitters, controllers, gauges, etc.). Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical instrumentation systems. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, electronic, and controls issues using appropriate diagnostic tools Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures to minimize downtime. Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and mechanical schematics. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize system performance. Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies. Document maintenance activities, calibration records, and system modifications. Provide technical support during commissioning and shutdown/startup activities. What you bring to the table
  • Associate degree or higher in Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical service, field service, or maintenance role working with chemistry laboratory equipment, HPLC and Mass Spec experience is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge in at least two of the following: Mechanical systems (drives, pneumatics, robotics, motion systems) Electrical systems (wiring, panels, power distribution) Electronic/controls systems (PLCs, sensors, HMIs, servo systems)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities with a "can do it" mindset.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Capable of overcoming a steep learning curve within a fast-paced startup environment. What we offer you
