Job Description SummaryThe Automation & Robotics Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated equipment and robotic systems used in a manufacturing environment. This role supports production operations by ensuring automated systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The technician works closely with engineers, maintenance teams, and production staff to improve system performance and reliability.
Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesAutomation & Robotics SupportInstall, configure, and maintain robotic systems and automated production equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on robotic cells, conveyors, sensors, and automated machinery.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.
Programming & ControlsAssist with programming, editing, and troubleshooting robotic, CNC, and PLC programs.
Support PLC troubleshooting, modifications, and I/O diagnostics.
Work with HMI interfaces to monitor and adjust system operations.
System Integration & ImprovementsSupport automation engineers with new equipment installations and system upgrades.
Participate in commissioning and startup of new robotic cells and automated systems.
Recommend improvements to increase reliability, efficiency, and safety.
Production SupportRespond to automation-related downtime events quickly and effectively.
Work with production teams to diagnose and resolve process issues.
Maintain documentation of repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
Engage in reliability engineering efforts - FMEA, Spares, TPM, Etc.
Safety & ComplianceFollow all industry, regional, and GE Vernova safety standards.
Assist with lockout/tagout procedures and machine safety verification.
Ensure systems operate in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Required QualificationsAssociate degree or technical certification in:
MechatronicsRoboticsIndustrial AutomationElectrical or Mechanical Technology (or equivalent experience) 2+ years experience in a manufacturing or automation environment.
Basic knowledge of:
Industrial roboticsPLC systemsElectrical troubleshootingMechanical systems
Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work overtime as required including occasional weekend shift.
Willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoesPreferred QualificationsExperience with industrial robots and cobots such as:

Pay Transparency:
The pay range for this position is $40.00hr - $50.00/hr.This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
