Maintenance Electronic Technician Location:
Trenton, NJ Pay Range:
$35 - $37.32/hour Shifts Available 2nd
Shift:
Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:00 PM 3rd
Shift:
Sunday-Thursday, 10:00 PM-6:00 AM About the Role We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Electronic Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial manufacturing equipment. This position is ideal for a qualified Journeyman Electrician with strong experience in industrial electrical systems, PLCs, automation, electronics, and controls. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and electronic equipment. Troubleshoot, read, and edit PLC ladder logic. Connect, configure, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs, including
PLC-5, SLC
500, and PLC 5000/ControlLogix. Work with PanelView/HMI systems and factory control systems. Troubleshoot and maintain robotics, drives, PLCs, HMIs, and computer-based controls. Work with Fanuc robot programming and troubleshooting. Troubleshoot and maintain Link/Omni Link press control equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Troubleshoot electrical systems operating at 240V and 480V three-phase. Maintain and troubleshoot motor control centers, motor starters, control loops, generators, switchgear, and related equipment. Use electrical/electronic testing equipment such as multimeters, ammeters, megohm meters, high-potential testers, oscilloscopes, and digital probes. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems. Perform preventive maintenance and help maximize equipment uptime and production output. Assist with equipment diagnosis and repairs alongside production and maintenance personnel. Use computerized maintenance systems to document maintenance activities. Provide work direction and technical support to maintenance mechanics and other team members. Participate in training apprentices, line mechanics, and fellow employees as needed. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Required Qualifications Qualified Journeyman Electrician. Minimum 5 years of experience performing complex industrial electrical, electronic, computer, and PLC maintenance. Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical and electronic systems. Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, including
PLC-5, SLC
500, and PLC 5000/ControlLogix. Ability to read and edit ladder logic. Experience connecting and setting up Allen-Bradley PLC systems. Experience with Fanuc robotics. Experience with Link/Omni Link controls and programming. Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics and blueprints. Experience troubleshooting 240V and 480V three-phase electrical systems. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and math/measurement skills. Ability to work independently and effectively within a team. Ideal Background Candidates with experience in industrial manufacturing, automation, electrical maintenance, PLC programming/troubleshooting, robotics, controls, or production equipment maintenance are encouraged to apply.
