What You'll Be Doing As an I&E Technician , you'll play a key role in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing Instrumentation and Electrical systems as well as Automation systems to keep operations running smoothly. Instruments include but not limited to
PIT, LIT, TIT, FIT, LSHH, MOV.
Electrical voltages range from 12VDC to 480VAC Automation equipment
PLC's Allen Bradley, ROC, Micro Comms, HMI's Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with Operators, Automation, SCADA, and IT teams to troubleshoot, maintain and repair Instrumentation and Electrical systems. Assist with construction, pipeline, start ups and electrical contractors across the area, as well as small electrical automation projects and installations. Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on Instrumentation and Electrical systems as well as Automation equipment for SWD's, pipelines, and WTS start-ups. Assist with contractor oversight, automation projects, and equipment installations. Proactively identify potential or developing field issues and alert managers for proactive remediation. Perform installation process of field cameras and monitoring systems. Provide remote and on-site Instrumentation and Electrical systems as well as automation support. Maintain accurate records in FIIX, Teams, and other reporting systems. Perform frequent and routine site/equipment inspections and document in our work order system (FIIX). Ensure regulatory compliance, safety standards adherence and serve as an operational liaison to monitor site safety. For Tech
II & III
(Advanced/Expert Level): Lead site inspections, PLC upgrades, and electrical repairs. Optimize automation equipment and improve operational efficiency. Train and mentor junior technicians, operators, and pumpers. Oversee SWD and WTS site monitoring.
What We're Looking For Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; trade school or 2-year degree preferred. 1-3+ years of industrial field electrician experience with troubleshooting & installation per NEC and state standards. Experience with automation, plant SCADA, and Wonderware (or comparable programs). Valid driver's license & clean driving record.
Skills & Qualities:
Strong problem-solving and task prioritization skills. Effective verbal and written communication. Effective use of computers for troubleshooting and monitoring devices and equipment. Self-starter who thrives in both team and independent work environments. Ability to stay composed and work under pressure, especially in emergencies. Organized, dependable, and professional. Strong sense of urgency and sound judgement. Working Conditions This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and around industrial equipment. Candidates must be able to climb ladders, crawl, crouch, kneel, push, and pull as part of routine tasks. The role requires regularly lifting up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs, as well as walking long distances and entering confined spaces. Operating a company vehicle will be necessary for at least 70% of the time. The work environment includes exposure to extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, and rain. Candidates must be comfortable working around high-pressure pipelines, hazardous chemicals, and flammable products, with frequent exposure to high noise levels and adverse driving conditions. This position requires flexibility, as work may extend beyond normal business hours, including overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs. Additionally, employees will frequently use computers and monitoring systems for tracking and reporting tasks.
