TheAssociateManagerwillbringsolidappliedmetrologyknowledge,GeometricDimensioningandTolerancing(GD&T),andcalibrationsystemsexpertisetocoachtechnicians,supportengineers,anddrivestandardsthatprotectmeasurementintegrityforPowertrainproducts.



Workwillincludeparticipationincross-functionalteams,supplierdiscussions,andexecutive-levelupdates. What You'll Do

Lead and develop Metrology and Calibration Technicians through structured training, external technical development, project direction, and regular team update forums

Drive implementation of metrology and calibration standards and best practices for dimensional inspection and instrument calibration, both inside the lab and on the production floor

Ensure metrology and calibration equipment operates efficiently across shifts; coordinate resources, tooling, and schedules so the team can complete work on time; implement and maintain comprehensive calibration programs for test and measurement equipment across Powertrain, ensuring equipment is calibrated prior to use and supporting calibrations/verifications across a broad instrument portfolio

Partner with Dimensional, Quality, Manufacturing, and Process Engineers on continuous improvement, problem-solving, and product quality (including

CMM/PCMM

program quality and measurement system effectiveness); support leads and engineers in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) while enforcing best practices during CMM, PCMM, and calibration operations; present clear, concise updates to stakeholders and leadership

Conduct Bill of Materials (BOM) and inspection-plan reviews with Quality Engineers and Incoming Quality teams to confirm AQL and in-process checks measure the correct features

Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations What You'll Bring

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; 5+ years experience in Manufacturing or Quality environments, with strong knowledge of dimensional metrology and a solid understanding of GD&T (preferred: experience in automotive, battery, drive unit, or high-volume precision manufacturing)

Experience leading or formally supervising technicians preferred; demonstrated ability to develop people, set standards, and hold teams accountable

Working knowledge of calibration systems, measurement uncertainty concepts, and instrument calibration practices for manufacturing-critical equipment (preferred: exposure to

ISO/IEC 17025

concepts, internal audit support, or quality system requirements related to measurement and calibration; hands-on familiarity with

CMM/PCMM

programming or oversight, laser trackers, portable arms, and common shop-floor gaging)

Flexible availability and willingness to support multi-shift operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with technicians, engineers, and cross-functional partners in a professional, organized manner; prior experience presenting metrics and operational status to senior leadership preferred

Proven ability to operate standard business tools (Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Outlook and Excel); experience with metrology software, calibration management systems, or similar platforms is a plus

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement in metrology and calibration operations; ability to interpret calibration and dimensional results, implement corrective actions, and communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences
