Equipment Maintenance Technician, Material Flow Automation, Powertrain Tesla Motors, Inc. paid holidays, flex time, 401(k) United States, Nevada, Sparks 1 Electric Avenue (Show on map) Apr 12, 2026 What to Expect As a Tesla Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment.

You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime.

Tesla's Equipment Maintenance Technicians are also the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running. What You'll Do Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all industrial production and mechatronics equipment Perform repairs on production-down equipment Operate and repair every cell on a Line Perform Corrective Maintenance (repairs) on more than one of these types of equipment: Electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase Mechanical systems, Conveyor Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC and networks Robotics Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogues and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms What You'll Bring 5+ years of experience working in a maintenance capacity on production manufacturing equipment and/or have equivalent training or relevant education and written communication skills (able to understand and record maintenance procedures, shift pass downs, etc.) Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical assembly drawings and accurately measure and inspect tolerances Advanced computer skills (able to use job-specific PC applications and coach other users) Solid electrical knowledge (has a thorough understanding of electrical requirements and hazards) Advanced skills with volt meter to check AC/DC voltage, able to diagnose issues, able to use a schematic diagram to troubleshoot electrical systems Proficient with pneumatics-solenoid valves, actuator and control operations and can read schematics Proficient with basic hydraulic system operations Essential Physical Demands Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours/day Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program
