Repair. Deliver Quality. BMW of Long Island City is seeking experienced, BMW-certified Service Technicians to join our team. This opportunity is specifically for technicians with prior BMW dealership experience and current BMW certification at the Associate (B) level or higher. You will use BMW diagnostic technology, technical information, and repair expertise to diagnose concerns, perform repairs, and maintain vehicles to BMW factory standards. Compensation and Benefits BMW High-Voltage and Master Technicians:
50-60+ per flat-rate hour BMW Associate (B)
Level Technicians:
$45+ per flat-rate hour Compensation based on BMW certification level, experience, and technical expertise BMW technical training and continuing education Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) or retirement benefits Paid time off Career growth and advancement opportunities Schedule 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Approximately two Saturdays per month Additional hours may be required based on business needs What You'll Do Complete repair orders as assigned. Diagnose vehicle concerns and determine the appropriate repairs. Perform advanced drivability, electrical, and computerized diagnostics using BMW technology. Repair and maintain engines, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, air-conditioning systems, and other mechanical and electronic components. Inspect vehicles for additional maintenance or repair needs and communicate findings to the Service Advisor. Provide accurate labor, time, and parts estimates. Follow BMW repair instructions, technical bulletins, warranty requirements, and dealership procedures. Perform quality-control inspections and post-repair test drives. Complete repair orders, warranty documentation, and other required records accurately. Communicate additional repair needs, concerns, and potential delays promptly. Work closely with Service Advisors, Parts employees, Group Leaders, and fellow technicians. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Properly maintain dealership and personal tools. Participate in required BMW technical training and keep all certifications and training current. What We're Looking For At least five years of automotive technician experience. Prior BMW dealership technician experience required. Current BMW certification at the B level or higher required. All required BMW training and ASE credentials must be completed and current. BMW A-Level, Master, and High-Voltage-certified technicians are strongly encouraged to apply. BMW High-Voltage training and experience preferred. Strong mechanical, electrical, computerized diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Experience using BMW diagnostic equipment, warranty systems, applications, repair instructions, and technical information. Ability to understand and follow BMW factory repair and warranty procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to fixing vehicles correctly the first time. Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and commitment to teamwork. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative service environment. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets the dealership's insurance and vehicle-use requirements. Ability to safely operate and test-drive customer vehicles. Ability to obtain a New York State Motor Vehicle Inspector License within the first 90 days of employment. Authorization to work in the United States. Employment may be contingent upon successfully completing job-related pre-employment screening and a motor vehicle record review, as permitted by applicable law.
