JPEG EXAMINATION INFORMATION EXPERIENCE EVALUATION

An experience evaluation consists of a quantitative evaluation of an Applicant's academic training and experience pertinent to the classification for which an examination is taken, based on the statement of experience as recorded on the candidate's application and on academic training based on required credentials. Under supervision of the Senior Instrumentation Technician, monitors, tests, adjusts, maintains, and repairs electronic instruments and equipment. Installs and performs set-up of equipment necessary for test and calibration purposes. Maintains and tests instruments. Inspects electronic system components. Supervises, guides and instructs, as necessary, Instrumentation Technician I's or other instrument repair staff. Maintains parts inventories. Identifies equipment needs. Develops specifications for the purchase of new equipment and evaluates technical adequacy of bids received. Records repairs. Prepares reports, charts, graphs, and curves. May be required to climb to various heights (poles, ladders, stairs, etc.) or work in confined spaces for prolonged periods of time. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Associate's Degree in Electronics from an accredited college or university or an equivalent Technical School Diploma or Certificate in Electronics required. Six years of full-time paid experience in a related field required. Valid State of Ohio Driver's License required. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds. ISA (Instrumentation Society of Automation) certification is preferred. (WATER - Plants (Computer Control Systems)) High School Diploma or GED required. An Associate's Degree in Electronics from an accredited college or university or an equivalent Technical School Diploma or Certificate in Electronics required. Five years of full-time paid experience with instruments connected to a computer control system required. Valid State of Ohio Driver's License required. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds. Knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA)required. ISA certification is preferred

VETERANS' PREFERENCE

Veterans' preference will be awarded, when applicable, to eligible veterans in accordance with Civil Service Rules 4.40E, 4.40F and 4.40G. Proof of active service or a DD Form 214,must be presented to the Commission at the time of filing application for the examination in which credit is sough tin order to qualify for veterans' credit. If the applicant has received an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions that applicant shall receive an additional five (5) points added to their raw score on the examination; or ten (10) points are added to their raw score on the examination if applicant's supporting documentation indicates more than fifteen percent(15%)service connected disability.

NOTE:

Only DD Form 214 (long form) or an official armed service document indicating type of discharge or separation and the dates of active service will be accepted as proof of active service.
