Position Overview:
The Automation Lead is responsible for ensuring the operational availability and reliability of our Automated System. As an Automation Lead, you will play a critical role in operating and troubleshooting our system, working closely with the Equipment Engineer to optimize performance and minimize downtime. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Pay Range:
$20.71•$34.51 per hour
Shift:
First Shift:
Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM•6:00
PM First Weekend Shift:
Friday to Sunday, 6:00 AM•6:00
PM Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate break/lunch coverage to maintain automation coverage. Train backups on SOW-required processes. Escalate issues to maintenance per the SOW. Track automation downtime and technician response times. Respond to alarms/errors and perform corrective maintenance to minimize downtime. Manually complete or override failed unit jobs. Track repairs and follow escalation procedures. Troubleshoot navigation, controls, and communication systems. Partner with production, maintenance, and engineering to resolve issues and improve performance. Use advanced computer skills to analyze data, update software, and configure systems. Work with the Equipment Engineer to optimize routes, efficiency, and uptime. Perform other warehouse functions as needed.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ year of experience with systems, material handling equipment, or similar technology. Ability to read, perform basic math, and understand English instructions. Basic computer/data-entry skills. Ability to work overtime, independently, and as part of a team. Strong organization, multitasking, time management, and follow-up skills. Adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and software systems. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Advanced computer skills, including system software, programming, and data analysis. Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse/manufacturing equipment preferred. Ability to build professional relationships across all levels of the organization. Ability to perform physically demanding work for up to 12 hours. Ability to stand/walk for up to 12 hours on varied terrain. Ability to frequently lift, push, and carry up to 35 lbs., including 20 lbs. on stairs. Ability to frequently bend, lift, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, crawl, and stoop for extended periods.
