Job Description

VEA Connect is actively seeking a certified and experienced Fiber Optic Splice Technician who can hit the ground running
  • no training, no hand-holding.
You'll join our growing field operations team responsible for turnkey FTTx builds and emergency fiber restoration projects. If you're confident with a fusion splicer in your hands and can document work like a pro, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables with a high degree of accuracy. Conduct OTDR, light source/power meter, and live fiber testing to verify continuity and quality of splices. Read and interpret splice schematics and fiber assignments. Maintain detailed and accurate splice documentation, test results, and daily production logs. Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting network performance during both scheduled and emergency work. Work safely and efficiently in underground, aerial, and indoor environments. Collaborate with project managers and field crews to ensure timely and clean project delivery.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of hands-on splicing experience (no entry-level candidates). Must hold a valid Fiber Optic Certification (e.g., FOA CFOT, ETA, or equivalent). Proficient with industry-standard testing equipment (OTDRs, power meters, VFLs, etc.). Experience with aerial, underground, and inside plant (ISP) environments preferred. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines. Must be able to work after-hours and weekends, occasionally
