Job Description

Celerity, a well-established telecommunications/construction company based in Quakertown, PA is currently looking for an entry-level Fiber Optic Splicing Technician trainee to join our team. You will be hired as a FT permanent employee of the company with benefits and receive on the job training in the field. An Apprenticeship to Certified Journey Worker program is also available. Our apprenticeship program is a 4-year program that is certified by the State of Pennsylvania. In this role, you will also be hired as a FT permanent employee with benefits, and all of the training is on-the-job. No classroom training involved. If you enjoy working outdoors with your hands and learning a new life-long craft, a career in fiber optics may be an excellent fit for you. We are looking for candidates who have a strong work ethic, critical thinking skills and the ability to retain information to be hired as permanent FT employees. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a High School Diploma or GED Must have a current, valid driver's license. Competencies Attention to Detail Telecommunications Knowledge Mechanical Aptitude Teamwork Communication Skills Ability to work outside in the elements Position Type/Expected Hours of Work These are full-time positions. Candidates must be able to eventually adhere to a rotating on-call schedule which may include holidays and/or weekends. Overtime and overnight may be required on an as-needed basis.
Physical and Other Requirements:
These positions may require overtime, flexible hours, and some weekends. Requires the ability to lift heavy equipment (50+ pounds), climb poles (with training), crawl into small spaces, and work at heights. The ability to distinguish colors and shades is also required.
